Shay is a graduate of Ashford University with a B.A. in business administration and has been in the recruitment field for seven years working within a variety of different finance roles. She has spent the last two years with a focus in the mortgage lending field.
Shay feels the most rewarding aspect of working in talent acquisition is finding the perfect position for a candidate and changing their lives — not simply to satisfy for their career path, but for so many other valuable reasons as well. “A new career for someone can mean so much more than a new source of income. It can provide a challenge and a sense of belonging to a strong team and being connected with a community. It can mean greater flexibility in their schedule, and so much more.”
Shay joined the team in 2021 because of the culture and values. She loves that everyone shares the same vision and is so deeply dedicated to the company mission. Shay believes, “iServe truly creates a family environment where everybody is there for each other.” She's been in other roles with other companies which push to hire people simply to fill a seat and meet a quota, but this isn’t the case with iServe. “The company cares about its employees and their professional growth. There's a genuine spirit of cooperation and shared goals that all revolve around helping one another.” Shay is passionate about being part of something she truly believes in.
Shay has begun to see the mortgage industry shift from a refinance market to a purchase market. “COVID created a low-rate environment which set the refi market ablaze for the past two years, though this is starting to see a stabilization. At iServe, we welcome the refinance business, but it has never been our main niche. iServe is flourishing in what is to come in the purchase environment.”
